Can We Observe Planck/string Scale Physics via the CMB?

I discuss the possibility that physics at the Planck or string scales modifies standard estimates of the inflationary perturbation spectrum. I summarize the likely signatures of these modifications, and the fundamental limits upon their detection by high precision CMB experiments.
