A suite of complementary cosmological observations by next generation probes can yield precise, robust characterization of the dark energy equation of state and its time variation. This provides crucial clues to the fundamental physics. We emphasize the need for simple, well understood probes coupled with robust systematics control, and highlight the strong benefits of meshing supernova distance and weak lensing methods.
