Detailed preparations are underway to complete the definition of the EXIST mission as an 'Einstein Probe' for black holes in the Universe using hard X-rays. The technical working group for science telemetry and data processing will capitalize on and improve upon the methods implemented by previous missions that conduct coded-mask imaging and rapid processing of positions and intensity measurements. These missions include the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer, Beppo Sax, HETE, and Swift. The telemetry and data processing designs will provide science data products that include: telemetry of individual events, rapid delivery of burst alerts, provisions of X-ray light curves on several timescales, and the construction of deep sky maps on very long timescales.
