Paper Submission Instructions
On this page: Submission of Electronic Files | Templates Authors must submit their contributions
electronically by Sunday, August 21, 2005. Authors are advised to submit their papers well before this deadline to avoid difficulties caused by overloading of the
system. As many contributions as possible will be processed before the conference, and authors will be informed during the conference of the status of their
papers. However, for a submission to be complete, authors must also complete the following:
- Submit a hard copy of the paper to the Proceedings Office at the conference
- Properly present the paper as an oral presentation or a poster
- Authors are reminded of the requirements for acceptance for publication as stated in the call for papers:
Since contributions are not accepted for publication only, any paper accepted for presentation that is not presented at the conference will be excluded from the
proceedings. Furthermore, the Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to refuse papers for publication that have not been properly presented in the poster sessions.
Submission of Electronic Files
Please follow these instructions to submit your paper
Bundling Your Electronic Files
Before submitting your paper, please check the following items:
- The instructions in the Guidelines for Paper Submission have been followed, such as:
- Use the templates provided.
- The only fonts used are Times New Roman and Symbol fonts, 10 pt minimum.
- There are no page numbers.
- There are no section or subsection numbers.
- Margins are correct on the printed version [left 20 mm (0.79 in.), bottom 19 mm (0.75 in.), overall height of text 241 mm (9.5 in.)]. There may be differences of ±1 mm on the
margins from one printer to another.
- Prepare a PostScript file of the paper that conforms to the Guidelines for Paper Submission.
(LaTeX users please use
the -j0 option with dvips—see the JACoW pages for help on preparing PostScript files).Note: PDF-only submissions will not be accepted.
- Check the size of the PostScript file.
An average size should be about 800-2000 kB. If
the file is more than 2 MB, please consult the JACoW recommendations for diagnosis
and remedies for large files.
- Check to make sure the PostScript file prints correctly.
You will need to submit a hard copy to the Proceedings Office
at the conference. The hard copy is used to compared with the distilled PostScript file.
- Name the files according to the paper's program code.
File extensions should
have 3 or fewer characters. The program codes for your paper(s) are linked to your account, and the system will not accept files that do not conform to this naming convention. For
example, for paper MOPA001, file names should be as follows:MOPA001.ps | PostScript file |
MOPA001.doc | Word source file (MOP001.tex if it is a LaTeX document) | MOPA001f1.eps | EPS file containing figure 1 | MOPA001f2.tif
