Sandia Labs has implemented a method to make phone numbers on our
internal webpages into hotlinks that actually dial the phone for you. This talk will
focus on the architecture of the solution, the problems encountered in attempting to use
the web as a front end to existing pieces of the infrastructure, particularly our Octel
Voice Messaging System. Also discussed will be the political implications of
deploying the system in a form that is less than perfect. |
