A small team (designer, catalog librarians, and programmer) have
developed a categorized index to the best of LANL's science and technology. To do so we
needed an institutional thesaurus suited for the Web and an administrative structure that
would support the maintenance of the information. The browse portion of aha! will feed a
science and technology portal for LANL.
The project is ongoing but we have discovered some useful references and a working
knowledge of information management issues. Finally, I'll briefly touch on advanced
information retrieval features such as intelligent filtering. |
