| Abstract: |
Since it moved to Berkeley National Lab in
1996, the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) has been developing
and using a web-database application to help Principal Investigators apply for NERSC
resources. Over the past four years, this Energy Research Computing Allocations Process
(ERCAP) system has become a key tool for collaboration between PI's, peer reviewers,
Department of Energy Program Managers, and NERSC staff. ERCAP currently uses the
following technologies:
Oracle Database Management System for proposals, reviews, and awards
data plus metadata
Seeker Software Framework and Embedded SQL engine for flow control and
database access
Netscape Enterprise Server and NSAPI, which works in conjunction with
the ESQL engine
TCCS (Trivial Configuration Control System) for source code control
Silktest regression testing software, for automated testing of web forms
This talk will discuss the architecture, development, and operation of
ERCAP to date. |
