| Abstract |
Facility and maintenance projects are an important aspect of the operation of high energy physics labs. Careful planning of even seemingly small projects can have a significant impact on both the near and long term safety associated with the job. Aspects of this planning include definition of requirements and hazards, engineering, documentation, technical and safety reviews, properly supervised execution, final documentation & writing of a post mortem. This talk will describe SLAC's facilities department approach to this issue and provide several examples of recent projects both large and small.
