The 2.5-day Workshop includes a tour of the experimental facilities and associated optical laser systems for SLAC's x-ray laser facility, the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS). The LCLS is a revolutionary x-ray light source that will probe ultrafast phenomena. The tour will be at the end of the 2nd day and will be followed by an early evening Social Event reception and Vendor Exhibit.
A Vendor Exhibit offers attendees an opportunity to learn about the latest products and services in laser safety and education. The Exhibit will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 12 following the LCLS tour. The Social Event will be held at the same time so you can enjoy refreshments (selection of food platters and snacks and a variety of beverages) while you visit the displays of the exhibiting companies and meet with their representatives! The location is outdoors on the patio/lawn adjacent to SLAC's Cafeteria, where you can enjoy great views overlooking Stanford campus and San Francisco Bay.
The DOE EFCOG laser safety task group will hold its annual meeting following the Workshop on the afternoon of Thursday, September 13.
The Board of Laser Safety is proud to offer its Certified Laser Safety Officer (CLSO) and Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer (CMLSO) examinations following the workshop on Thursday, September 13.
