Call for Nomination of PAC Conference Awards

Particle Accelerator Science and Technology Award

Two will be awarded to recognize outstanding contributions to the development of Particle Accelerator Technology.  At least one award will be given to an individual early in his/her career.

• Brief curriculum vitae,
• List of relevant publications,
• Letters of support from one or more nominators, and
• A suggested award citation.

Nominations must be received by November 25, 2002.

A certificate and a cash award will be made at PAC03 in Portland.

Student Travel Awards Honoring Lou Costrell and  Mel Month

The APS/DPB and IEEE/NPSS are sponsoring a limited number of travel grants to worthy students to help defray their travel costs.  These grants are being awarded in honor of two people who have made many contributions to the accelerator community.  The DPB grants honor Mel Month for his dedication to students and education, and the NPSS grants honor Lou Costrell for his nurturing of the Particle Accelerator Conferences.  The awards will include a complimentary one-year student membership in the sponsoring professional society.

Graduate students in accelerator science or technology are invited to apply by providing a one-page description of work being carried out and a nominating letter from the student's supervisor.  The deadline for the travel grant application is March 1, 2003.  Please submit the application to:
