Stanford Campus Marguerite shuttle

In case of need to travel around Stanford campus during other times, you are recommended to take advantage of the Marguerite shuttle service which operates during the week days and it is free. This service has regular lines going to downtown Palo Alto, Stanford shopping center, SLAC and stops close to some of the conference hotels. The following links have a summary of the Marguerite shuttle service routes and hours, and a more detailed schedule of the services.

Parking on Stanford Campus

Parking on Stanford campus is restricted during working hours (Mon-Fri 6am-4pm). There are different grades of parking areas such as "A","C" etc. for permit holders while there are also metered "P" areas for visitors (see detailed parking map). In case you want to drive in to campus yourself, the Wednesday Jun/19 reception 5pm-8pm and whole Saturday are of course out of restricted hours so that you could park anywhere. For Thursday and Friday, we have made some one day permits available you can purchase from the PIC organizer's desk at the conference venue (perhaps most convenient for you at the reception). These permits are in form of a `scratcher' which you can use one per day by scratching off the cover for the day you want to use and place it on the dashboard. However, there is a significant difference between two types of permits available:
a) $12/day    -  allows you to park at any parking lot, but we only have limited number of permits of this type.
b) $3.00/day -  only allowed to park at "event permit" areas (pink-E) on the detailed parking map. There is one such parking structure at the Stock Farm Road (map grid F2) and another near Stanford Stadium (map grid E12). The Stock Farm Road parking is about 20min walk from TCseq. However, there is a park & ride express Maguerite shuttle service which runs every 10-20min (10 min during 8-9am). Ask driver to stop at SEQ teaching center.

You can find a series of maps ranging from the San Francisco Bay area map to Stanford/SLAC local campus maps are available online.

Weather

The average high temperature in the Stanford area in June is 70°F.  "California casual" is appropriate for daytime and most evening outings and is acceptable for all conference activities. A sweater or light jacket is suggested for evenings.  (More weather information.)
