| Abstract | The application of STXM to field collected atmospheric aerosols samples is used to illustrate a small range of the scientific questions that can be addressed by STXM. Specific examples to be presented include studies on black carbon, sulfur, and metal containing atmospheric aerosols. These studies demonstrate how STXM measurements can be used to complement other, non-synchrotron based, imaging techniques (TEM, SEM/EDX and TOF/SIMS). The basic technique with an emphasis on sample requirements will be presented. |
