| Abstract | The Front End Enclosure (FEE) of the LCLS will be the first area traversed by the X-ray beam, upstream of the Near Experimental Hall. This 35-meter-long enclosure will house: 1) optical elements for conditioning and directing the X-ray beam (slits, absorbers, and mirrors); and 2) a suite of X-ray diagnostics that will be used to assist with commissioning of the LCLS as an FEL, and to monitor the performance of LCLS as an X-ray facility.
This talk will describe the instrumentation located in the FEE, explain how it will be used during LCLS operation, and discuss the current status of its development. |
