| Abstract | A brief review will be given of four projects intended for the LCLS.
1. In collaboration with S. Boutet. M. Bogan and M. Frank, we plan to synchronize our aerojet single-file droplet beam injector with the LCLS. This provides a means of hitting biological samples which require hydration with the femtosecond X-ray pulse. 2. Bragg spot-fading experiments are planned for various pulse durations in order to study the early stages of photodissociation in two-dimensional protein monolayer crystals. 3. Experiments on X-ray diffraction from laser-aligned organic molecules are planned. 4. A new approach to single-shot tomography will be outlined, and a method described for removing multiple scattering artifacts from soft-Xray diffraction patterns. |
