We discuss design of hard X-ray polarimeters optimized for small satellites. We first compare various methods of polarimetry and conclude that scattering method is the best in terms of its sensitivity. Two types of scattering polarimeters is designed, one with imaging capability and the other not, and their feasibility for satellites observation is discussed. Development of their proto-type on the ground is also presented.
