Welcome to the AMO First Science Results Workshop

February 22 - 24, 2010

Kavli Auditorium

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Menlo Park, CA

The Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), the world's first hard x-ray free electron laser, began commissioning in the second half of 2009, with the Atomic, Molecular, Optical (AMO) instrument. Eleven user proposals were accepted for the initial commissioning experiments scheduled October through December 2009. A workshop to discuss these first LCLS experiments with the AMO Instrument will be held February 22-24, 2010.

The purpose of the workshop is to communicate the latest information about LCLS instruments, laser systems, new opportunities for short pulses and high energy experiments, and to hear from the scientists whose peer-reviewed proposals were selected to conduct the first commissioning experiments at the AMO beam line.

Proposals for future LCLS experiments can be submitted by November 3, 2009 (to be eligible for beam time September-December 2010) and April 1, 2010 (to be eligible for beam time the following year.
